Youth's will say; "I am in" Center for Alternative Policies will host 52 university student from different cities of Turkey with its new project called ,"Ben de Varım!" in 22-28 Nowember 2010.
Development of democracy in a country is only possible with good communication and interaction. Those individuals or societies that do not adequately understand each other would not be able to internalize or apply the requirements of democracy. A good communication is essential in order to flourish, mature and spread democratic culture. It is very important that individuals come together to communicate and try to understand each other by releasing themselves from bias and dogmas as good ideas will emerge in such environments. This Project will be an important step to widespread the democratic culture from local to center where important opinion leaders and the youngsters will come together and where experts will give their support with workshop Works in order to increase the communication in the field of democratic participation. This project will take place in Ankara- TURKEY for 6 days with 52 university students whom are a member of some student clubs in their universities on the axis of democratic participation. The join of local and regional opinion leaders, academics, politicians / parliamentarians will be provided in the meetings that will serve as awareness rising.
The original method that will be used in workshops during the meeting will offer the participants an opportunity to express themselves adequately and the detection of problems and sharing of ideas and experiences being provided in these meeting will be a very important experience in terms of democratic participation.
What are the youth democracy projects?
It is a project which:
- promotes the involvement of young people in participatory structures;
- develops the dialogue between public authorities and a group of young people;
- facilitates the dialogue between public authorities and young people who are not members of organizations;
- creates structures or strategies for bringing young people closer to political decision-making;
- identifies and overcomes obstacles to the participation of young people in democratic life.;
